Dustin Hostetler, Chief Innovation Officer of Boomer Consulting, Inc., is a pioneer in applying Lean and Six Sigma concepts to public accounting firms. As a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with extensive experience working inside a large regional CPA firm, he has taken proven Lean techniques and tailored them to bring ground-breaking value to public accounting firms. His innovation and passion have brought true efficiency and effectiveness to accounting — helping firms improve client service and retention, set the foundation for growth and build the bottom line.
Dustin facilitates dozens of consulting projects and trainings each year on Lean and Six Sigma principles, notably the industry-leading Lean Six Sigma CPA Green Belt certification program in conjunction with Ohio State University. Dustin is a member of the CPA Consultants’ Alliance, a working group of thought leaders united in their efforts to further leadership within the CPA profession. He is a frequent contributor to many of the accounting profession’s top publications, including The CPA Practice Advisor and Intuit’s Firm of the Future.
Dustin was the founder of Flowtivity, LLC and served as Principal until its merger with Boomer Consulting in 2015.

Beyond his innovation within the accounting industry, Dustin has extensive experience consulting for other industries including manufacturing, retail, food service and professional services. He has led the implementation of lean, strategic planning and financial analysis in organizations of all sizes and across a variety of industries. From large enterprises to small manufacturers, he utilizes strategic thinking and customizes solutions for each challenge.
Dustin received his BSBA in Finance from Ohio State University and earned both his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Black Belt certifications from Kent State University. He lives in Ohio with his wife and three children.
