Jordan Birnbaum serves as Vice President and Chief Behavioral Economist for ADP Talent Activation. In this role, he serves as General Manager for Compass, ADP’s homegrown leadership development tool and winner of the Human Resource Executive®’s Top HR Product of 2017 Award. As a creator of Compass, he directed the infusion of behavioral economics into both the product design and the coaching content, crucial components of the highly successful product.
Mr. Birnbaum has been leading start-up companies and projects brings for more than 25 years in multiple industries, including finance, email service, media, hospitality, and I/O Psychology. He is a recognized authority in the application of behavioral economics to address complex challenges in the human capital management space. He is a noted speaker at industry conferences and events, and a frequent contributor to ADP blogs and widely published in outlets including Forbes, SHRM, HR.com, HR Magazine, HR Dive, HR Technologist, HR Tech Outlook, Benefit News, and The Future Organization.
Before joining ADP, Mr. Birnbaum was the owner/operator of The Vanguard in Hollywood, CA, a hybrid media company and entertainment venue, employing more than 150 people for nearly a decade. The Vanguard was ranked as the #3 music venue in the United States by DJ Magazine in 2008.
Prior to The Vanguard, Mr. Birnbaum was a founding employee of Juno Online Services, Inc. As Senior Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Birnbaum was responsible for sales revenue, playing a crucial role in a successful IPO in 1999, and in beating analyst estimates for six consecutive quarters. Prior to Juno, Mr. Birnbaum was a market-maker of Japanese Equity Warrants for D. E. Shaw Securities International in London, England.
Mr. Birnbaum has an undergraduate degree in Policy Analysis from Cornell University, and a Master’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from NYU.
