Phil is a founding partner of the firm and has over 30 years of experience practicing in the tax field. As managing partner, Phil has helped guide the growth of the firm to over 450 employees and 11 offices. Phil addresses complex issues for clients in the real estate, private equity, professional services and family office industry sectors.
Phil has authored numerous technical articles on tax issues included in publications such as the Journal of Taxation, the BNA Bloomberg Tax Management Real Estate Journal, and he co-authored the BNA Bloomberg Tax Management Portfolio on Real Estate Leases. A frequent guest speaker at the USC Gould School of Law Tax Institute and other professional organizations, he served as a part-time faculty member at the University of Southern California Master of Business Taxation Program and is a member of the Board of Advisors for the Leventhal School of Accounting at USC. Phil is also on the advisory board for the Graduate Tax Program at Loyola Law School.
Active in his community, Phil serves in leadership positions on many nonprofit boards. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, summa cum laude holding a master’s degree in taxation and bachelor’s degree in business administration. He received his JD from Loyola Law School, Order of the Coif. Phil is a recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells award. Phil began his career at KPMG LLP.
